"I need to be sure I'm providing the clarity they need on complicated matters so that we can move forward together with confidence. There is a lot of fulfillment that comes when you see your client's understanding come to life. My clients are like family to me."

Matt has an excellent reputation for his mastery of advanced tax preparation and planning for individuals, small businesses and ex-patriots. He is also very accomplished in specialized tax preparation for estates and trusts. Having acquired rather unique tax knowledge related to the complexities of foreign disclosures during his tenure with NCH, and now NorthPoint, Matt co-authored the book Expat Taxes Made Easy, a reference guide for U.S. citizens who are working, investing or retiring outside the US. He was responsible for most of the technical content in this book published by International Living and he continues to provide wealth advisory and tax services to many expats today. Matt has been a sought-after speaker on the topic.

From intern to Managing Partner, Matt came from humble beginnings. Matt earned his CPA designation in 2009 while concurrently working as an Enrolled Agent of the IRS. His first job was at age 15; he worked nights and weekends to put himself through community college. Matt later received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from California State University Fullerton in 2007 while working full time for NCH Tax & Wealth Advisors. He is also a Chartered Global Management Accountant, holds Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses and is a registered representative through broker dealer Money Concepts Capital Corporation. Matt also holds life, health and variable insurance licenses with the State of California and serves as a wealth advisor to most of his clients.

When not working, Matt and his wife Kathy, enjoy being servants to their 3 dogs and entertaining nieces and nephews. They still enjoy cross training, hiking and traveling …however, now they just need more gear. They welcomed their first son, James, in March 2018.
